Compression is not
a bigger bag.
Most travel packs solve volume by adding litres, which is exactly what the sizer at the gate measures. This one removes air instead, so the outside stays the same shape while the inside holds more.
It removes air, not weight
Vacuum compression reduces the space clothing takes up. It does not make anything lighter, and nothing gets lighter at the check-in desk either. We say it plainly because the difference matters when you are near a weight limit.
The pump is the point
Compression bags that need a vacuum cleaner are useless in a hotel room. This one is a hand pump: fully mechanical, nothing to charge, nothing to plug in. It works in a corridor at five in the morning.
How it packs
Four things worth knowing before you decide.

It opens flat, like a case
The main compartment folds all the way open instead of loading from the top. You pack it lying down, you see everything at once, and you are not digging through a tube at the bottom of a wardrobe.

Shoes have their own compartment
A separate zipped section at the base takes a pair up to around size 45, so what you walked in does not sit against what you are going to wear. It is also where a wet swimsuit goes.

Built to be carried, not dragged
Padded shoulder straps with a sternum strap, a padded back panel, and a luggage pass-through so it sits on a wheeled case. Loaded to cabin weight it stays on your back through a terminal without complaint.

One colourway. Less friction.
Black only. Matte water-resistant shell, tonal hardware and no exterior logos — a cleaner choice from checkout to the gate.

Will it actually fit as cabin baggage?
Empty it measures 40 × 25 × 18 cm, which suits common carry-on and under-seat limits. Allowances differ by airline, fare and aircraft, and a bag packed hard will always sit slightly proud of its empty dimensions. Check your airline and measure the bag once it is packed.
Does compression make my luggage lighter?
No. It removes air, so it reduces volume, not weight. Nothing gets lighter at the check-in desk. What it buys you is room: soft clothes take up less space, leaving more room for other items.
How does the pump work?
You load the detachable liner, zip it shut, then draw the air out with the hand pump through the valve. It is fully mechanical, so there is no battery, no cable and nothing to charge. Pump until the liner feels firm.
Is it waterproof?
Water-resistant, not waterproof. The shell sheds rain on a walk to the terminal and spray on a ferry. It is not built to be submerged, and we would rather say so than let you find out.
What if it arrives faulty or damaged?
We cover it in full. Email hello@voyat.store with your order number and clear photos or a short video, and under the Australian Consumer Law you may choose a replacement or a refund for a major failure. The return postage is on us on a covered claim. Change-of-mind returns are not accepted, so every dimension is published before you pay — the full terms are on the refund policy page.
